Noah Mankowitz’s fees remain below the recommended Australian Psychological Society guidelines at $250 per session. Reduced fees are available for Health Care card holders.

Medicare rebates
While a referral is not required to attend an appointment, Medicare provides rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, significantly reducing any out of pocket expenses.

If you wish to apply for a Medicare rebate of $127.40 per session, please make an appointment with your GP for a Mental Health Plan assessment. Make sure you ask for a double appointment with your GP so that you have enough time. If you are assessed as eligible, your GP will provide you with a referral letter. Please bring this letter to your first counselling session.

Please email your referrals directly to noah@noahmankowitz.com.au

Alternatively, patients can bring their referral letters to their first appointment.

Alternatively, you may wish to claim a rebate from your private health Insurer, as some private insurance do provide some rebate.

A GP referral is not required if you wish to pay privately.

Payment terms
Fees are payable in cash or by direct fund transfer on the day of your treatment session. You will receive a receipt to claim your rebate via Email.

Cancellation fees

When appointments are booked, the psychologist reserves the whole hour especially for you, therefore the following cancellation policy is in place.

Cancellation fees are in accordance with the guidelines of the Australian Psychological Society (APS):

  • less than 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation prior to a scheduled appointment, the cancellation fee charged is 100% of the full appointment fee
  • between 24-48 hours’ notice of a cancellation prior to a scheduled appointment, then the cancellation fee charged is 50% of the full appointment fee

Please note:

That cancellation fees paid cannot be claimed through private health insurance ‘Extras’ cover, or Medicare, and you will incur the cost of cancellation or late arrival fees.  Further appointments will not be made until these fees are paid.

Cancellation or late arrival fees may be waived in special circumstances.  Please discuss this with me at the time of cancelling an appointment.

Please note:

For persons attending under the Medicare funded Better Access Program (with a Mental Health Treatment Plan):

  • Medicare only pays for the period of time that a person is present for a consultation with a Psychologist.  It does not pay a psychologist for appointments which a person does not attend, or for the portion of the appointment where the person arrives late.

We understand that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment because of sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency. If this happens to you, please contact us as soon as possible to explain the situation.

We require 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session without occurring any extra fees.

A late cancelled appointment is a loss to three people

  • The patient who is delaying their therapy progress
  • Another patient who has been sitting on the waiting list to see the psychologist urgently
  • The psychologist who spent the morning preparing for the session
